Our commitment
PacketMentor is committed to making our website and learning experience usable by the widest possible audience — including learners who rely on screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, magnification, and other assistive technologies. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we welcome feedback that helps us do better.
Standard we aim for
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the W3C. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard commonly referenced in US federal and state accessibility guidance (including Section 508 and the ADA). We evaluate the site against these guidelines during development and again in periodic reviews.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with a single visible
<h1>per page and a logical heading hierarchy. - Skip-to-main-content link at the start of every page.
- Descriptive link text and alt text on informative images.
- Color contrast that meets or exceeds the WCAG AA thresholds for body text.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, forms, and interactive practice tools where feasible.
- Reduced-motion respect where animations are used.
- Text that scales cleanly up to 200% without loss of content or function.
Known limitations
We are transparent about what is not yet fully accessible:
- Interactive CLI labs and simulators. Some of our hands-on practice tools currently rely on a mouse or touch interaction (for example, drag-and-drop matching in the practice exam). We are progressively adding keyboard-driven alternatives.
- Third-party embeds. The Cal.com scheduling widget, the chat widget, and any embedded videos are provided by third parties. Their accessibility is governed by those providers.
- Packet Tracer files. Cisco Packet Tracer is a Cisco product whose accessibility is outside our control.
Assistive technology tested
We test with recent versions of the following combinations. If you use a setup not listed here and hit a problem, please tell us — we treat that as a first-class bug.
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android).
- Browsers: current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
- Keyboard-only navigation on desktop.
Getting help or reporting a barrier
If any page or feature is difficult to use with your assistive technology, or if you need content in an alternative format, please email info@packetmentor.com with the subject "Accessibility." Include the page URL, the assistive technology and browser you use, and a short description of what you were trying to do. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to fix or provide an alternative path as quickly as we reasonably can.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We plan regular reviews as the site grows and as new features (such as the mock exam and interactive labs) evolve. Substantive improvements will be noted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
