Configure a DHCP server pool

On R1 (LAN gateway with Gi0/0 = 192.168.1.1/24), configure a DHCP pool named LAN that hands out addresses in 192.168.1.0/24. Set the default gateway to 192.168.1.1 and DNS server to 8.8.8.8. Exclude the range 192.168.1.1 – 192.168.1.10 so the first ten addresses stay available for static assignments.

Note — order matters

Configure excluded-address BEFORE creating the pool. Otherwise IOS may hand out .1 or .2 before you get a chance to exclude them.
